The current building dates back to 1943, although its construction, interrupted several times, was completed in the 1960s; it appears as a sanctuary in a pseudo-Romanesque style, topped by a polygonal dome.
Only after the inauguration were the marble floor and the current artistic windows added, initially consisting only of iron frames. The three external doors and the internal one were then manufactured, and only later were the two confessionals and the 44 beechwood benches inserted. Description: The original painting (undated) would have been kept in a house in the village. On the main altar, there would be a copy of the image of the Madonna del Rosario di Pompei, which was brought following the pilgrimage, executed in 1948 by Sister Clotilde Calvi, an Ursuline lady. As early as 1898, an oratory had been built on the site of the current sanctuary. In 1900, following a pilgrimage, the building acquired a new religious function with the placement of a sacred image. On that occasion, in fact, four pilgrims returning from a pilgrimage to Pompei (Domenico Mazzoni known as Torlino, Giovanni Cortellini, Antonio Ferri, and Natale Servadei) placed an image of the Virgin of Pompei in the oratory. In 1941, on October 8, during the Second World War, some heads of families from the surrounding area gathered and decided to establish the endowment fund for the new parish, which would later become the sanctuary. In 1942, on May 31, the parish of Serramazzoni took the name of Parish of the Blessed Virgin of the Rosary of Pompei, also assuming the title of provostship. Subsequently, it then assumed the title of archpriesthood by decree of Bishop Giuseppe Amici. The decree recognizing the elevation to sanctuary dates back to 1993.
The date indicated for the entry into force of the first parish is that related to the oldest document preserved in it.
