A further change occurred in 1778, when the patrimony of San Salvatore and the monastery itself came under the control of the Vatican Chapter, returning the jurisdiction to the Teatine diocese.

The spiritual care of the sanctuary is entrusted to the parish priest of San Nicola, ensuring the continuity of the religious tradition and the welcome of pilgrims.
