Coincidentally, Don Agostino Lavagetto, his missionary companion, had the same dream. Interpreting this as a divine sign, Don Antonio turned to the Bishop of Massa-Carrara, Monsignor Amilcare Tonietti, who, inspired by the fervent devotion, not only granted permission to build the sanctuary but also offered his personal ring to contribute to its construction. The foundation stone was laid on April 8, 1895, and in 1901, the Sanctuary was solemnly inaugurated, becoming a beacon of hope and faith.
Reconstruction and Rebirth After the War
World War II left deep scars on the Sanctuary, causing severe structural damage. Between 1945 and 1952, thanks to the perseverance and generosity of the faithful, the Sanctuary was rebuilt, once again shining as a place of welcome and prayer.
