Starting in 1807, following the French occupation, the monastery was suppressed and converted into the seat of the archbishop’s seminary. During the Second World War (1941-1945), the convent was partially used as a shelter and hospital. Between 1980 and 1989, the monastery was elevated to a Sanctuary.

The building features a single nave, flanked on the left by the vast chapel dedicated to Saint Luke. The eighteenth-century restorations left a clear Baroque imprint in the internal stuccoes and in the addition of the square tower bell tower with a spire. Above the central large window, the emblem of the Minims stands out, symbolizing the order founded by San Francesco.

Upon exiting, to the left, extends the former convent, currently under restoration, with its evocative cloister, a place of silence and meditation ideal for pilgrims.
