Construction proceeded rapidly, culminating in the consecration of the temple on August 25, 1938, by Monsignor Alessandro Macchi, Bishop of Como.

Just a few months later, on October 3, 1938, the temple was elevated to a Sanctuary, and Don Cambiano was granted the title of Rector and Chaplain “extra urbem” by Pope Pius XII, a significant recognition of his commitment and the growing importance of the place.
