As early as 1611, during the pastoral visit of Bishop Giovanni Battista Visconti, some prodigious events were mentioned. In June 1614, it is said that a small star lit up on the chest of the statue of the Virgin, during the annual transport of the statue from Santa Maria dell’Alno to the Sanctuary of Perdono.

According to tradition, there existed a 15th-century manuscript, kept in the Municipal Archive, which documented the three apparitions of the Madonna, the foundation legend of Santa Maria dell’Alno, and the miracles that occurred until the end of the 18th century. Unfortunately, this precious document was lost during the French invasion of 1798-1806.

Unfortunately, the reconstruction work on San Biagio was never completed, and what remained of it was demolished in 1924.
