The sheep, in fact, had the habit of kneeling right on that bush. Intrigued, the shepherd peered through the thorny branches and discovered, hidden by vegetation, an ancient chapel.

When the chapel was brought to light, Byzantine frescoes depicting the Madonna and Child, the Redeemer, and various figures of Saints emerged. The news of this miraculous discovery spread rapidly, attracting a crowd of faithful. It is said that among the people who rushed there was a young woman suffering from mental problems who, at the sight of the chapel, shouted to run to the “Madonna della Stella” (Madonna of the Star).
