The presence of the church of S. Salvatore in Pollutri is documented as early as 1324-1325, as attested by the Rationes Decimarum. The chapel of San Nicola, administered by a lay procurator, also managed a wheat bank in the period 1802-1803. In 1792, the chapel and the altar benefited from their own revenues (Cf. Santa Visita, folder 524 c. 216r).
