The Sanctuary of the Madonna di San Giovanni, a jewel nestled in the heart of Ripatransone, reveals itself as a place of profound spirituality and history. From that moment, the history of the Confraternity became inextricably linked to the simulacrum of the Lauretan Virgin, which the people began to call the Madonna di S. Giovanni, after the name of the Confraternity. A significant recognition came on May 10, 1682, when the Chapter of St. Peter granted the Golden Crown to the venerated image, the first in Piceno to enjoy such prestige. On May 30, 1893, Bishop Nicolai proclaimed the Madonna di S. Giovanni the patroness of the city and the diocese of Ripatransone, further solidifying the bond between the Madonna and the local community.

Insight into the Saints of the Sanctuary: In addition to the Madonna, the Cathedral housing the sanctuary is dedicated to St. Gregory the Great and St. Margaret. St. Gregory, Pope and Doctor of the Church, is known for his reform of liturgical chant (Gregorian chant) and his pastoral work. St. Margaret of Antioch, a virgin martyr of the 3rd century, is invoked as the protector of women in childbirth. Their presence reinforces the spiritual importance of the place.
